Senior Research Fellow

Dr. Swasti Gupta-Mukherjee’s primary research area is investments, with a particular focus on the functioning of capital markets. Her current work’s significant focus is the link between sustainable development goals (economic, environmental, social), the risk-return relationship, incentives and outcomes in financial markets, and the relationship between financial systems and society. As Senior Research Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis‘ Social Policy Institute, her main focus is research and policy initiatives on financial inclusion and climate change. She is an award-winning teacher and received the Aspen Institute’s Ideas Worth Teaching Award for her course “Finance for a Sustainable World” which pioneers the integration of sustainable development concepts into the core finance curriculum for business students. 

Dr. Gupta-Mukherjee is a professor of finance at Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business. She received her PhD in finance from Georgia Institute of Technology and Bachelors (with honors) in chemical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology- Kharagpur.
