Stephen Roll
Co-Director
Stephen Roll (he/him/his) is a associate director of research at the Social Policy Institute, where he is one of the lead researchers on the Refund to Savings Initiative. His research focuses on promoting asset building, debt management, and economic security in lower-income populations. In addition, he is involved in research on child savings, food insecurity, and the role of financial technology services in promoting financial well-being. His work often involves applying a behavioral lens to social policy issues. He also works with helping non-profit organizations develop their research capacities.
Prior to joining the Social Policy Institute, he worked in the private sector as a consultant for Proctor & Gamble. In his off-time, he enjoys traveling, history podcasts, cartoons, and arguing about science fiction.
