Apply to become a Graduate Policy Scholar!

Applications for the Graduate Policy Scholar program are now open to all graduate students at Washington University in St. Louis! The Graduate Policy Scholar program provides students from all fields of study with impactful opportunities and training in policy. Offered by the Social Policy Institute and the Clark-Fox Policy Institute, the yearlong program provides students with opportunities to develop skills in advocacy, analysis and/or organizing.

Key features include:

  • Self-directed, experience-based program that allows for topic specilization
  • Participants can expect to develop skills in advocacy, analysis and the policy process
  • Students are given the opportunity to engage with policymakers, civic leaders and change agents

Aurora Chen

“I hope to use my policy and advocacy skills to arouse attention to elder care and active response to the problem of the aging population.


Jada Foster
(Brown School – MSW/MSP)

“For nearly two decades, I have been an advocate for the empowerment and protection of school-aged children and their mothers. I will continue to use my policy writing skills to advocate for early childhood sexuality education and the importance of body autonomy for mental health.”


Amal Taylor

“I aim to use my policy and advocacy skills to improve eye and vision health and reduce preventable blindness, especially in under-served and minority communities.
