Dan Ferris

Associate Director of Education and Training

Dan Ferris (he/him) is the associate director of education and training at the Social Policy Institute and coordinates and oversees the education and training initiatives at SPI. In his role as the assistant dean for policy initiatives at the Brown School, he brings a wealth of experience to the Social Policy Institute.

He has gained diverse experience through his roles in policy, government affairs, and community engagement efforts focused on health, health care, poverty, and inequality. In addition to overseeing policy education and training initiatives for SPI, as the assistant dean for policy initiatives at the Brown School he is responsible for expanding and supporting the Master of Social Policy Dual-Degree program and legislative internship programs.

He is committed to research, programs, and policies that address food insecurity in St. Louis and beyond. He received his Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Public Policy from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Public and Social Policy at Saint Louis University. He has taught graduate-level policy courses in social welfare, legislative advocacy, and healthcare at New York University, Touro Graduate School of Social Work, and the Brown School at Washington University in Saint Louis.
