Anthony J. Nixon, Jr. (he/him) is a doctoral research assistant at the Social Policy Institute. He is a doctoral student in the Public Health Sciences program at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science (BS) in Biology from Morehouse College and his Master’s of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology from The Ohio State University. His work intersects public health, epidemiology, and family well-being. His research interests focus on fatherhood and complex social issues during the perinatal period, with a particular emphasis on understanding the impact of father’s contribution to maternal, infant, and family health outcomes. At the Social Policy Institute, he works on projects involving guaranteed basic income, financial security, financial health, and family well-being. In Anthony’s spare time, he enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with his family.
