Amaya is a program assistant at SPI and is currently a junior undergraduate here at WashU, majoring in Sociology and African & African American Studies, with a special interest in Black maternity and maternal health outcomes. Outside of SPI, Amaya is also the Spring 2021 Katherine Dunham fellow at the Arts & Education Council and has assisted University professors in Sociology as a Teaching Aide. She is also an active member of WashU’s Women’s Health and Empowerment Network (WHEN) and participates in a Black Girlhood Studies Lab.
